Presenter

Louis van Vuren
Louis holds the degrees BA, LLB and LLM from RAU (now UJ), the Advanced Certificate in Leadership from UCT and the Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (cum laude) from UFS. He started his career as a public prosecutor and state advocate before moving to Old Mutual as a legal adviser in 1990. Louis held senior management positions in Old Mutual Trust and BoE Trust (now Nedgroup Trust) until 2012 when he took early retirement. He was CEO of the Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa until 30 September 2025 and is director of trust services at Finlac Risk and Legal Management (Pty) Ltd, a fee based financial planning practice in Cape Town. Louis lectured part-time at the University of the Free State in the 1990’s (mercantile law), Milpark Education (2013 – 2016), Stellenbosch University (2013 – 2016), the University of Stellenbosch Business School (2015 – 2017), and the University of the Western Cape (2022). He is co-author of the LexisNexis publication “Fiduciary Services Handbook.” Louis is an advocate of the High Court of South Africa (non-practising) and holds the designations CFP®, FPSA®, and TEP.

Payments and cancellations
- All payments must be made by EFT or by credit card, at least 3 working days before commencement of an event.
- Kindly note that should payment not be received 2 days after the event, legal action will be taken
- Proof of payment will be requested at registration, if payment does not reflect on Taxfaculty`s bank account.
- Only written notice of cancellation will be recognized.
- Conditions:
- If the cancellation occurs more than 4 working days prior to the event no cancellation fee will be charged.
- If the cancellation occurs less than 4 working days prior to the event a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
- Delegates who book and fail to attend will be liable for the full event fee.
- Taxfaculty`s liability in the case of an event being cancelled will be limited to a refund or credit of the event fee.
